Shakirah Girl Empowerment Network UG (SGENU) is a national wide non-profit organization dedicated to empowering vulnerable teenage mothers, youth, and adolescent girls in and out of schools in Uganda.
SGENU has been actively engaged in addressing the needs of vulnerable teenage mothers, youth, and adolescent girls in Uganda since February 2022.

Global Causes and Transformative Impact
Over 11 successful events have been implemented in Ugandan Communities since the inception of SGENU. we have provided critical support in the form of educational resources, life skills/Livelihoods, mentorship, and essential supplies especially in the menstrual hygiene. With the invaluable support of our partners and volunteers, we have made strides in empowering these young mothers to envision a brighter future.
SGENU’s overall goal is to create an environment that enables girls/Youth to develop their potential, gain confidence, and become active contributors to society. By providing education, mentorship, and support, SGENU aims to create a sustainable and transformative impact on the lives of girls across Uganda.
